About FarmWise
We are an AI-powered agricultural robotics company transforming how food is grown. Recently acquired by Taylor Farms we are growing the team to accomplish our mission. Our core product is an autonomous field robot that uses advanced computer vision and machine learning to detect and eliminate weeds and improve crop health, reducing chemical use, and boost farm productivity. Behind this smart machine is a robust software ecosystem, including a cloud-based backend that monitors robot health and productivity, and a mature ML Ops pipeline that enables continuous model improvement and deployment.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineering Leader who thrives at the intersection of software, AI, hardware, and operations, someone who can lead teams, write production-grade code, and drive cross-functional integration between our robotics platform, backend systems, and ML infrastructure. This position is based in the San Francisco bay area with frequent trips to the beautiful Salinas Valley where the majority of operations take place. Regular visits to the office and field will be required.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of industry experience in software engineering, including significant work in full stack development.
3+ years in a technical leadership or people management role, with a proven ability to mentor engineers and lead projects across teams.
Expertise in both backend technologies (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js) and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or similar).
Experience working with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong understanding of data pipelines, APIs, and real-time communication between hardware and cloud systems.
Familiarity with ML Ops practices, model deployment, and collaborating with machine learning teams.
Experience in hardware/software integration with bonus points for work in robotics, IoT, or embedded systems.
Excellent communication, team-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
About the Role
You will lead the development of complex software systems that power a cutting-edge agricultural robotics platform, spanning front-end interfaces, back-end infrastructure, and real-time robot-cloud communication.
Lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for the robotic platform's front-end, back-end, and data integrations.
Drive the development and maintenance of the robot-cloud communication systems that report health metrics, diagnostics, and productivity data from the field.
